How can I copy PATHWAY error message?

All PATHWAY messages can be easily copied, by using the copy and paste option.

  • Mark the PATHWAY message
  • Right-click the selection
  • From the drop-down list select the Copy option
  • Paste the message where required

How can I save a Black BOX file?

Refer to the Black Box section in the operating manual.

Where can I find the system Log file?

By default, the system Log file is located in the PATHWAY main station folder on your PC.
Browse to: C:\Program Files\MEDOC\Pathway Main Station\Log Files\App

How can I save system information file?

The system information file can be saved, by using the PATHWAY program:
1. Start the PATHWAY program and click Help > About PATHWAY.

How do I know which Thermodes are connected to the PATHWAY?

Thermodes are divided into several groups, depending on their contact area. Select your thermode type according to the following images:

Almost all thermodes are available in standard and fMRI configurations. Cable length in Standard thermodes is 1.8-2.5 m; fMRI cable length is 10m.

How do I read data from the PATHWAY program status bar?

The PATHWAY program status bar is located at the bottom of the PATHWAY screen.
The available information on the status bar is:

Mode: Demo / On-line

COM: Green / Red light according to state
Heater temperature (CHEPS only)
TEC temperature
Water temperature
Safety: Green / Red light according to state

How do I know if main power switch is ON?

When the Main Power switch is ON, it lights up.

How do I find the temperature on the ECU display?

Can I install a PATHWAY Main Station on multiple computers?

YES. The PATHWAY can be installed on as many computers as you like.

Each PATHWAY installation CD can be used to install software that can activate a unique system, according to the license file that is located on the installation CD itself.

Why does the PATHWAY system require licensing?

The license ensures that your system will operate according to your unique requirements.

The PATHWAY system is configured according to your licensing agreement.

I have connected the PATHWAY to the power outlet, but it does not work. What should I do?

Make sure the Main switch is turned ON.

Make sure the Electronic Box switch is turned ON.

If I face a problem using the system, what should I do?

Refer to the PATHWAY Operating Manual and try to find a solution to your problem.

If I face difficulty in calibrating the system, what should I do?

Refer to the PATHWAY Service Manual – Thermode Calibration sections.

What preventive and maintenance procedures should I conduct, and when?

Preventive and Periodical Maintenance procedures are:
Periodical System Run (every two months) – starting system and running Limits-1 test for 10 minutes.
Thermal Calibration (every six months).
System water replacement (if the system is not used for over three months)
Thermode water replacement (if the thermode is not used for over three months)
Water replacement in system with ECU (every month).
Ground conductivity test for fMRI systems (after every assembly in fMRi scanner)
Thermode visual test (prior to attaching to subject) and maintenance at Medoc (every 2 years)

If I face difficulty maintaining the system, what should I do?

Refer to the PATHWAY Operating Manual – Preventive and Periodical Maintenance section.
Contact the Medoc local rep.
Contact the Medoc service team in case you can not find an answer to your difficulty.

Which type of distilled water should be used for system flushing?

Double distilled, by reverse osmosis and ion exchange process (distillation level 0 – 10 microsiemens) should be used

Where can I find the Black Box file?

The Black Box file (Blackbox.dat) is located in WinTSA and/or COVAS program directory:

  • WinTSA program black box default location: C: Medoc\WTSA5_XX
  • COVAS program black box default location: C: Medoc\VAS3_XX

How can I save the system information file?

The system information file can be saved via the Utility screen of WinTSA and /or COVAS program.

  • Start the WinTSA or COVAS program.
  • From the toolbar, select the Utility button.
  • Click the System Information button.
  • The generated file Sysinfo.txt is saved under WinTSA or COVAS directory (default location C: Medoc\WTSA5_XX or C: Medoc\VAS3_XX).

How do I read data from program status bar?

The program status bar is located on the upper right corner of the program screen.

The available information on the status bar is:

  • TEMP: Number / Resting / OFF – Temperature of the Thermode contact area.
  • WATER: Number / Resting / OFF – Temperature of the water in the Thermode head.
  • VAS – COVAS slider position (activated in the COVAS program only, if the COVAS accessory is enabled. Replaces WATER)
  • Status: In test / Out of test / Demo

What is an ECU and when should I use it?

 

  • ECU stands for External Cooling Unit (as opposed to Internal Cooling Unit).
  • The ECU is an integral and mandatory part of the TSA-II (-10°C).
  • the ECU should be used with an fMRI-configured TSA-II system.

How do I know if the Main Power Switch is ON?

When the Main Power Switch is ON, it lights up.

How do I know if the Fan is working?

Place your hand in front of TSAII unit cover grid. You should feel air blowing out.

Why does the system need the Green LED and where can I find it?

The purpose of the Green LED is to illuminate the water-control window in the TSA-II front cover. This improves the control of water level and movement.

  • The Green LED is located in the TSA cooling unit water tank.

How do I know if the water is circulating?

Water circulates, when the pump is working.

  • A working pump has specific “tap-tap-tap” noise. When the TSA-II is on, and a program is activated, listen for this noise.
  • When the water circulates, there is a water level movement in the illuminated water window.

I have connected the TSA-II to the power outlet, but it does not work. What should I do?

 

  • Make sure that the Main switch is turned ON.
  • If you have a GSA system make sure that the Isolation transformer switch is turned ON.
  • Refer to the system User and Service Guides, Troubleshooting chapter.

If I face a problem using the system, what should I do?

 

  • Refer to the system User and Service Guides and try to find a solution to your problem.
  • Contact the Medoc local rep.
  • Contact the Medoc Service team.

 

If I face difficulty in calibrating the system, what should I do?

 

  • Contact the Medoc local rep.
  • Contact the Medoc service team in case you can not find an answer to your difficulty.

If I face difficulty using TTL input/output accessory, what should I do?

TTL input option:
The TSA can be started by an external ±5V, 100-2000msec trigger. The trigger must be set to External in the CoVAS program algorithm.
TTL output option:
TTL output is a ±5V, duration 50-3000msec pulse (set via Utility-»Setup). TTL output must be enabled in the CoVAS program algorithm.
